Piloting with the primary school - Alivola - Step 3 - January 10, 2013 - Photos
and Video
1 - In this video the work made today. Today the children will build their second automata, with a different
mechanism, in order to continue to become familiar with the construction
techniques, materials and mechanisms.
2 - The teacher Clohe shows the automata: is a bird that moves alternately
to the left and to the right, while the crank rotates always in the same
direction.
3 - The mechanism is hidden. is a double cam with two wheels that move
around the horizontal axis, and the hole of which is decentralized. The
wheels are opposed to each other, and this creates the reciprocating
motion.
4 - The children are asked
to try to imagine the mechanism and draw the notebook Clohe. is a work
in groups of four. As we see from the notebooks, only the use of design
integrated to the practice allows to continue.
5 - Is given to children
even the material, so that they can both draw that experiment manually.
Children begin to experiment manually.
6 - Some things become clear slowly: the opposite directions of rotation
and the position of the two parallel wheels.
The use of materials is important: also in this case the mechanism is
three-dimensional and three-dimensional representation on a sheet of
paper is not easy.
7 - The mechanism is constructed and they passed to the characters and
decorations. The children share the work: some cut out, some glue,
others draw or color.
8 - The first characters come to life and out of the rubber sheet. are
put into position to try the movement and the effect.
9 - The fixed decorations: front, rear and top of the box. Children use
the space as a scenic support and the scene will emphasize the
movement of the characters.
10 - Here are the completed jobs: the first character tries the mom who
was taken by a ghost and can not find her. The second is a unicorn in
the clouds
11 - And here's a parrot, followed by a lion on a brown hill.
